Playing catch up

This weekend was a long weekend and we crammed a lot of fun into it. In the interest of saving myself a lot of time I am combining all days into one mega-super stocked post. Rest assured that I really did take a picture everyday. My camera battery is dead and of course I cant find the charger so for now we'll all have to just deal with crappy cell phone pics. Maybe if you squint while looking the pictures wont be as blurry.

On Friday we spent the entire day in PJs. Well the kids did. I actually got out of bed before they woke up and showered. It was nice to be up and ready before the day officially began. But really I only did it because evaluators from Infants and Toddlers were coming over to evaluate Finny. His lack of speaking is really getting tough to deal with so I was hoping they'd come and wave their magic wand. Apparently, they dont actually have any magic - they confirmed what we already know- Mac Man tests above the 24 month level in all areas including receptive language. Basically he is just smart enough to know that we are going to jump when he tell us to signs for us to.  After the evaluators left we decided it was too cold to leave the house, so we just had a lazy day filled with all things fun.

Zoë taught Finnegan how to make "funny faces"

I worked on sewing a baby gift in my craft room while the kids played in trashed the playroom.
It was spotless 1 hour before these pictures was taken:

Thankfully I was able to get the baby gift finished, I made a wrap carrier and was really happy with how it turned out.

Saturday was another lazy day. Mr. lameton and I took turns entertaining the kids while the other did some cleaning. Then I got to go to IKEA all by myself. I swear, Ikea is my Disneyland!

Poor Finn often gets mistaked for a girl and as I was bathing him this weekend I wondered to myself if maybe he looks like a girl from behind? so I snapped a pic and I still do not think he does.

The rest of the weekend was spent eating pudding
making Chocolate peanut butter bark
and sewing the boy a pair of adorable seersucker pants.

On Monday morning the kids woke up to find that santa left a gift for them that Finny was too sick to appreciate and that quite frankly, Santa was toot ired to put together on Christmas Eve.

Finny needed diapers so Zobot and Mommy decided to go on a "just the girls" trip to Target. We decided to have lunch there and Z ate carrots!
Is she not the cutest Mac N Cheese monster you've ever seen?

yep.

Mommy- (with much enthusiasm) "ok, guys who wants to clean up all the bath toys so we can get into pjs?"

Zoë-(equally enthused) "Finny does!!"

365+1 Day 7 - You Go Girl!

My daughter never ceases to amaze me. She is always happy, sweet and positive. Its a good thing I had a drug free birth with her or I may not have believed she was really mine! Zoë started ice skating last night and I must say I was really nervous about how it would go. Zoë has low muscle tone and some motor planning difficulties so I was afraid that I was setting her up for disaster. As I saw her stand up on those skates on her wobbly little legs I was so worried!
but she smiled and said she was ready to go find her teacher and meet the other kids in her group. Notice how all the other kids have helmets?!? oops!
I'm not going to lie, when she got out there on the ice it was painful to watch. It was like a car accident-- I wanted to turn away but I couldn't. Here she is clutching on to Ms. Pammie
more clutching -
Here she is mid wipe-out (look past the little girl balancing flawlessly on the ice)
But then she started doing better
And even as she fell again she was ready to get back up and try again!
Love this girl. She never ceases to make me proud. You go girl!
This guy too. He's just adorable in everything he does. Even when he sleeps.
Those lashes!

365+1 day 6

Today was a day of triumphs. Zoë "only leggings or I will kick and scream and make you late for wherever you have to be" Lameton wore jeans.

proof:
Then Little Man ate a vegetable. Ok so it was a veggie on the no nutritional value list, baby steps guys. baby steps.
Then Mr. Lameton got the kids bathed and in PJs while I read a book. He even did laundry and while he was folding said laundry, little Mac sat and quietly read books instead of his usual after bath pasttime of throwing things into the bathtub water (you'd think we'd learn to remmber to empty it as soon as the kids got out right?!?!)

it was a day worth dancing for.

365+1 Day 5

It's begining to look a lot like... Spring?!?

It was warm today. really, really warm. Like at least 65. So I did what any other mother would do with this unexpected gift -

I locked my kids out on the deck.
It was really easy to get them out there too, I just threw some fruit snacks out there first. That stuff is like toddler crack.

Eventually they started banging on the door so I had to let them back in. A few of my friends were at the park so we decided to meet them there. Despite being about an hour late (I'm seeing a trend here. see post below) we still had fun. Sorry that there are so few pictures of Z, it isnt that I like her less. I just lost her as soon as we got there. I only lost the little guy twice.

365+1 Day 4

We LOVE living in Eldersburg. This move was a great decision and there are so many things about the area that we love. One of these things is the library-- it is just a few blocks away. This morning we decided to go there for story time. They were having a princess puppet show and Z was very excited to see it. We got there and walked into the story room and it was completely dark. I figured we were a little late and we'd just get settled in the dark-- no biggie. Then the lights came on, I thought to myself "wow, how nice of them to turn the lights on so that we could find a place to sit." but the lights stayed on even after we sat and I noticed everyone was getting up. Turns out I had the showtime wrong and it started at 11:15 NOT 11:45. We missed it. Damn. They probably funded the show with my late fees too. Thankfully Z was happy that we ran into some of her schoolmates (whose mothers had no such troubles getting their daughters to the library on time) and I was able to convince her that we hadn't really missed anything and we were there to get her picture taken with the princess cat.
Then we played with puzzles
and found more books that we will inevitably return late
Hopefully we'll be able to rack up enough fees to bring back the puppet show!
