My new boss (er bosses)
A month ago my boss brought me into his office and told me that they would not be renewing my contract due to budget restraints. I was shocked, scared, devastated & angry. Now I have decided to take it as a sign that something better is around the corner and while I look for that something better, these are my new bosses:

The dentist!
Finnegan had his first dentist appointment last weekend and it was no surprise to me that he was a perfect angel for Dr. Simon. At Zoe's first appointment I had to hold her on my lap and she was not very cooperative. Not so for out little Mr. independent:
The dentist was so impressed with how clean his teeth were, that is because we dont let our kids eat any sugar. ever.

Summer, Summer, Summer time!
Is May really almost over? We are looking forward to summer and all the fun outdoor activities that we can do in our backyard lying around in the hammock drinking frozen concoctions. We moved into the house in August last year so we only had a few weeks outside last year. It's hard to believe that Ms. Z has finished her first year of preschool. Int he fall she will be in Pre-K! Here she is last fall on her first day:
Note to self: cutting your daughter's bangs the day before the first day of school is NOT a good idea |
Look how sweet and innocent they look |
And here is Finny celebrating that his sister is in school now so he gets 2 days a week to play with toys w/o her snatching them! |
I remember back when I took that picture of Z holding the chalkboard that I had all these great intentions of taking the same picture on the last day of school to see how much she'd grown. OOPS.
I do however have pictures of her field trip that she took just a few weekes before the last day of school, that counts right?
dont let her fool you, she may look interested but the whole time she just kept asking when we'd eat lunch! |
Thank you Mimi and Pop Pop!

Happy Birthday Finny Mac!!!
Cue the violins- my tiny, precious, sweet, loving, adorable little baby:
to a (still just as precious, sweet, loving, adorable) TERRIBLE 2 Year old!!!!
At 2, Finnegan:
weighs: 25lbs (15th percentile)
Height: 35 Inches (75th percentile)
Loves: Mama, Dada, Zo Zo, anything with wheels- trucks, cars, buses, trains, dogs, sweets
Talking: finally starting to talk! He has a bunch of words but here are the ones he uses the most: mama, dada, grandma, zo zo, truck, yes, uh uh, uh ohs, blue, bye.
He loves singing and is constantly singing- he "babbles" the words but it is in tune and sounds like what it should sound like! His favorite songs are twinkle, twinkle, wheels on the bus, if you're happy and you know it, and happy birthday to you
Would it be too much to ask for him to just STOP growing? Even though he annoys the crap out of me by following me everywhere I go sobbing "mama mama mama mama mama" while clinging on to my leg, I love this little boy to pieces!
Big sister does too:

Working hard or hardly working?
WORKING
Zo has been so busy this year - she goes to preschool 2 days a week, OT 2 days a week and also has taken dance, ice skating, gymnastics and swimming. We just found out thats he was accepted into a horse back riding program for children who have motor planning delays. We are so thrilled that she will get this opportunity. I have been reading up on the benefits of horse back riding for children with balance and coordination issues and I am convinced that this activity will do a world of good for little miss Z!
Here is a link to a great article on therapeutic riding lessons
There are days when I feel like I am pushing Z too much by getting her involved in so many activities and pushing the OT 2 days a week, but then I see somehting like this drawing:
and I know that pushing Zoe to do more is going to be so beneficial to her (not just academically buy socially too!). Before starting OT at the begining of the year Zoe could not even draw a straight line.
HARDLY
Then there is my sweet stubborn Finnegan..... sigh. This kid NEVER talks! Which would be fine, accept -- he can! Finny is so stingy with his words. He likes to keep them hidden (maybe in the pockets of those chubby cheeks) and spits them out when you least expect it. The other day I was making breakfast and asked Finn if he'd like pancakes or french toast, I wasnt really expecting an answer, somethimes I just like to hear myself talk. But then he busts out with "french toast" in his raspy little weird voice of his and I spit out my coffee! He loves saying yes or no and prefers all questions to be asked in a manner that enables him to use either word. We (the rest of us Lametons) need to get better about offering up actual choices so he can stop being so dang lazy.
Big sister just loves this stage of Finn's life though. She likes to ask him things that arent even on the table for discussion just so I'll not only have to deny her but also the cute little guy in the diaper as well. i.e.
at bedtime
Z:"Finny would you like to stay here and watch TV instead of taking a bath?"
Finny -"yesh"
Evil Mommy "no more tv it is bathtime."
at breakfast
Z: "Finny do you want chocolate for breakfast"
UGH. She also "talks for him"
Z: "Mommy Finny told me I could eat the rest of his cookie"

A Playhouse under the stairs
We have a closet under the stairs in the basement that I have been wanting to turn into a playhouse. I started draftng up a plan and am really excited to get started on it. Mr. lameton is not quite as excited as I am, for some reason the thought of me and power tools scares him?!!?
But since my Mom took the kids for a whole week Id ecided to come home from work and do this:
I'm hoping to have a big playroom reveal post in a few weeks!
